Complete dental care for senior patients
At Infinity Dental Care Winston Hills we provide complete oral care for senior patients. We are able to offer our older patients the options of full and partial dentures, as well as implant retained dentures.
Dentures from Infinity Dental Care Winston Hills are made from acrylic resin, which is then bonded to a chrome support base. This makes them strong and long-lasting.
Partial dentures are for our patients who still retain some of their natural teeth, while complete dentures are designed for our patients who have lost all or almost all of their natural teeth.
Dentures restore function, enabling you to eat normally, speak clearly and feel confident about your smile.
After you receive dentures you may find your speech is slightly affected and they can take a little time to get used to. It is advisable to eat soft foods and liquids for a short period of time. We also advise not wearing your denture overnight. Removing your denture allows your gums to rest and promotes improved oral health.
When you have been wearing dentures for a while it’s possible for the contour of your gums to change. Therefore it’s important to visit the Infinity Dental team regularly to ensure your dentures still fit securely and any adjustments can be made. We are also able to rebuild a denture that has a broken or lost tooth.
Implant retained dentures
Our dental team can talk to you about all the options available and provide comprehensive information about the solution that will best suit your needs and be of greatest benefit to your oral health.
A dental implant is a fine titanium screw or rod that‘s placed precisely into the jaw bone during a minor surgical procedure to replace a missing tooth root.
After a tooth is lost, it’s possible for the bone to gradually lose strength and volume. Dental implants help the bone to stay strong. Some people who have been missing teeth for a while may require bone graft surgery to build up the density of the jaw bone so it can support the implant.
Receiving a dental implant can take several stages. The first step involves a consultation and thorough examination of your oral and general health. We will also take detailed x-rays of your jawbone to ensure there is enough bone to support your implants.
The second phase is the surgical procedure where your implants are guided into place. They are then left to naturally integrate with your jawbone. This can take between 3 – 6 months.
